The Youth Department of the International F.& A.M. Masons & Order of the Eastern Stars was established
in 1950 by Sister Virginia Minor (Supreme Youth Director) for the purpose of developing self esteem, pride and leadership
abilities in the young people of her community.
For more than tweny years the youth department has grown under the leadership of Supreme Youth Director,
Friend Alline Matthews.
The state of Michigan established a prospering youth department which was first organized by Mrs. Mary Kirksey
of Roseville with the remarkable aid of Brother Earl Williams of Flint, Michigan. The first court was in Flint and was
known as Mary Kirksey Court and St. John Court and proudly bears the distinction of being the very first department dedicated
to the annuals of youth for International F. & A. M. Masons.
The state of Michigan youth departement is called Adam & Eve Grand Youth Court. There are currently
19 active youth courts in the state of Michigan, Friend Otis Davis is Grand Youth Master and Friend Tabitha Wright
is Grand Youth Matron.
