Adah Chapter No. 125 was organized in 1963 and chartered in the month of
September. Worthy Matrons that have served this chapter are: Sister Ophelia Brown, Sister Claytie Williams and
Sister Charity Jackson. The officers were Brother Thomas Jackson, Jr., Worthy Patron; Sister Vivian Taylor, Associate
Matron; Sister Eliza B. Jones, Rec. Secretary; Sister Patricia Hollowell, Corr. Secretary; Sister Carloyn Hunter, Asst. Fin.
Secretary; Sister Loreese Bee, Treasurer; Sister Lorraine Brown, Conductress; Sister Mary Johnson, Associate Conductress;
Sister W. Mae Warren, Chaplin; Sister Betty Stewart, Warder; Brother Robert Bee, Sentinel; Sister Isabell Holloway, Marshal;
Sister Geolia Ramsey, Adah; Sister Johnnie Mae Mackie, Ruth; Sister Myrtis Portis, Esther; Sister Idella Styles, Martha; Sister
Carolyn Hunter, Electa. Members were: Sister Frances Simmons, Sister Margart Love, Sister Emogene Florence, Sister
Eura Robinson, Sister Callie D. Williams, Sister Roberta Crawford and Sister Flora Shelton. There were 26 active members
on the roll. The secretary and treasurer are bonded each year. This chapter gives a fund raising affair to cover
all of the chapter expenses for the year. This is the foundation of Adah Chapter 125.
The seed was planted in 1962 and we have grown over the years, here's a list of past Worthy Matrons
of our chapter: Sister Verita Brown, Sister Maratha Brown, Sister Anna Debose, Sister Patricia Hollowell, Sister Juanita
Parker, Sister Vera Pickens,Sister Viola Edwards and presently Sister Danette Wright. Under the leadership of Sister
Wright and the dedication from the sisters of Adah Chapter 125, we now have more than 75 members on roll and we are still
growing.
We had a number of leaders come out of this great chapter also; two District Matrons, Grand Joint
Council President, two Grand Matrons, two Grand Youth Matrons, National Midwest District Grand Youth Matron and Supreme Grand
Matron.
